Scottie Miller (President, Co-Founder)

Scottie Miller is the President and Co-Founder of element 7, inc. Scottie's love for traveling and passion for helping others is how element 7 came to be.
Always encouraged from her parents to travel and explore the world, Scottie began traveling across the United States and the world at 13 years old. Filling up her passport is a hobby of hers. Having visited 13 countries so far, she does not have plans to stop anytime soon. Her travels have taken her to several countries in Europe and into the Outback of Australia, where she worked on 120,000 acres of land.
Along with pushing their kids out into the world, Scottie's parents constantly reminded all three of the Miller children the importance of helping others, not only those that were less fortunate but anyone and everyone that might be in need of an extra hand. At 18 years old, Scottie worked at the Director of Faith-in-Action at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church. The program required Scottie to line up volunteer hours for teenagers. For every hour they volunteered, she would line up 1/2 hour of paid work. This, she will say, was the beginning of wanting to work with communities and in the volunteer field.
She continued volunteering through college at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. During her last year, she was given the opportunity to organize and leave ASU's first ever Alternative Spring Break. Scottie chose the location, interviewed participants, organized the week with volunteer work and fully participated in the activities. She has also been quite involved in the Charlotte community since her move there 5 years ago.
Scottie is eager to watch element 7 grow with the great potential she know it has.
Holland Miller (Vice-President, Co-Founder)

Holland Miller, Vice President and Co-Founder of element 7, inc., was born and raised in the small community of Laurinburg, North Carolina. In middle and high school she became quite active in her church youth group thus began her commitment to helping others. While in high school, Holland was a member of the Anchor Club, Junior Leadership Scotland and volunteered as a tutor for the Scotland County Literacy Council. During her senior year in high school Holland was the Director of Faith-In-Action for Laurinburg Presbyterian Church. She was also a youth advisor for the Senior High Youth Group at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church while attending college.
Holland's involvement in her own community led her to explore other areas in need. In August 2007 she volunteered with Cross Cultural Solutions in Cape Town, South Africa. Over the course of the next twelve weeks she spent her time in a local day care and high school. That experience taught Holland there's an unbelievable amount of work to be done and there's no time to waste.
Holland's family has been instrumental in her love to serve. It was instilled in her long ago that everyone deserves to be treated equal and to help all in need.
Holland hopes element 7 will lead others to serve and assist those who need a hand.
